Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. Her career path has taken her across Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as performed piano. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music in the Atlanta's R&B scene. She became the primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the director of the choral group for the production. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
